Legal and ethical aspects and information

What happens when a scientist handles research material which is sensitive from an integrity perspective? When can researchers receive material from authorities? Scientists often pose such questions to Statistics Sweden (Statistiska centralbyrån, SCB), the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen, SoS), the Swedish Data Inspection Board (Datainspektionen, DI) and the central ethical review board. These authorities/bodies have produced a brochure in order to increase the awareness and facilitate correct application of the existing rules. The brochure contains information on regulations and how to handle research material which is sensitive from an integrity perspective.
