Population Development and Social Change (SU)

This is an advanced level course on fertility, mortality, migration. The aim is to familiarise students with demography (population studies). Population development, basic demographic theories and methods as well as data sources are discussed. Social issues related to population development, population structure (ageing) and population policies are studied from a historical perspective and in recent periods. The course covers international research and demographic issues in Sweden.

The course is given in English 2 September – 2 October 2013. It consists of 7.5 ECTS and is at advanced level in Demography.
