Workshop on New Developments in Register-based Demographic Research

The workshop in Stockholm on June 11-12 gathered about 70 register researchers from more than 12 countries with register data of varying qualities. The program highlighted the substantial progress in register-based research in recent years, both nationally and internationally. Sweden and the Nordic countries are certainly forerunners in developing such research, but quality concerns regarding census and survey data have triggered the organization of population registers and administrative registers as a source for research also in several other countries. The workshop provided a vivid display of this progress. All presentations from the workshop are available from the SUNDEM home page: http://www.suda.su.se/simsam/ (Workshops page).
