Stockholm University SIMSAM Node for Demographic Research

The SIMSAM Node for Demographic Research is administered at the Stockholm University Demography Unit (SUDA), Department of Sociology. It brings together expertise on migration and family dynamics from SUDA and the Department of Human Geography and involves collaboration with register researchers in other Nordic and European countries. The overarching goal is to produce research that exploits the unique qualities that only register data have.

The project involves pre- and postdoctoral researchers from several countries. Our research focuses on the following main themes:

Theme 1: Spatial careers
Theme 2: Intergenerational demographic careers
Theme 3: Immigrant demographic integration
Theme 4: Interrelated demographic processes
Theme 5: Research based on new household and dwelling data
