The 2017 meeting of the Italian Demographic Association was held in Florence, February 8-10, in collaboration with the Swedish Demographic Association (SDF).
SDF was represented by several attendants from SUNDEM and the Stockholm University Demography Unit (SUDA). The Population Days were opened by two keynote speeches by Swedish demographers: Gunnar Andersson gave a talk entitled ”Nordic Demographic Societies: Small populations, great data”, Gerda Neyer presented ”Low fertility in Europe: Is gender equality the solution?”. Research from SUNDEM was also presented by Johan Dahlberg, Sven Drefahl, Marika Jalovaara, Andrea Monti, Eleonora Mussino, Jan Saarela and Ben Wilson. The presentations impressed by showcasing the qualities of Nordic register data in demographic research.
